Siren Test at Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel and Plant

LEADVILLE, COLO. -- The Bureau of Reclamation will test its warning sirens at the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel Treatment Plant on Thursday, November 5, 2015, starting at 1 p.m.

The sirens and emergency warning system are tested periodically as part of Reclamation's regular maintenance program at the drainage tunnel and treatment plant. The sirens and warning system were installed to enhance notification of local residents in the unlikely event of an emergency.

The Drainage Tunnel and Treatment Plant continue to function as designed and are performing safely.
