MEDIA ADVISORY - Reclamation and the Army Corps of Engineers Present 2005 Middle Rio Grande Operating Plan

The public is invited to a meeting about the water operations along the Middle Rio Grande during 2005. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 6 p.m. at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Chaco III Room, located at 2401 12th St. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The presentation will cover:

  • The process for determining the Annual Operating Plan for water operations
  • Review of 2004 water forecast, predictions and reality
  • Review of 2004 water storage and release for the Rio Grande Compact, Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District and the Rio Grande silvery minnow
  • 2005 water forecast and predictions
  • 2005 potential for water storage and release
  • 2005 impacts to water-related recreation

Reclamation and the Corps will address questions from the audience, concerning the Middle Rio Grande Annual Operating Plan. Representatives from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District will be available to answer questions as well.
