Clint Wertz Selected as New Manager for Ephrata Field Office

BOISE, Idaho - The Bureau of Reclamation's Pacific Northwest Region has announced that Clint Wertz will be the new Ephrata Field Office Manager. He is presently serving in this position in a temporary capacity and will assume permanent duties Aug. 23.

Clint will oversee the management and operation of Reclamation programs in central Washington. He will assist the Columbia-Cascades Area Manager in carrying out overall responsibilities related to the conservation and judicious management of land, water and natural and energy resources within the Columbia Basin Project.

"Clint's significant land management background is a good fit with the large land base of the Columbia Basin Project," said Dawn Wiedmeier, Columbia-Cascades Area Manager. "He has successfully handled a diversity of challenging issues and is a very smart and progressive manager who will bring creative ideas to the Ephrata Field Office."

Prior to Reclamation, Clint spent three years as an Assistant Field Manager for the BLM in Nevada and the Planning Director for Lincoln County, Nevada for four years before that. His current full time position is as the Land Resources Program Manager with Reclamation's Regional Office in Boise, Idaho.

Clint received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University in Recreation and Parks, along with a Master of Science degree from Portland State University in Urban and Regional Planning.

The Ephrata Field Office is covers central and eastern Washington, as well as north Idaho and western Montana. The office oversees the Columbia Basin Project which delivers irrigation water to over 671,000 acres of land.
