EPHRATA, Washington - The Bureau of Reclamation has reopened Scooteney Reservoir, located 36 miles south of Moses Lake on Highway 17, after water samples have shown a decline in the recent algae bloom to safe levels and potable water has been re-established to the facility.
"We're very happy to have this popular recreation site back open to the community to enjoy," said Julia Pierko, Acting Ephrata Field Office Manager.
The Reservoir, day use area and associated campgrounds had been closed since June 12.
