Reclamation Anticipating Higher Releases from Olympus Dam into the Big Thompson River

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Bureau of Reclamation is currently releasing 600 cfs from Olympus Dam into the Big Thompson River. Based on National Weather Service rainfall and runoff forecasts, Reclamation anticipates the potential need to increase water releases from Olympus Dam into Big Thompson River.

“Reclamation’s facilities and dams are safe and performing well,” said Eastern Colorado Area Manager, Jaci Gould. “During this rainfall event and throughout spring runoff we will continue providing updates on changes in releases from Olympus Dam.
