Draft Environmental Documents Released for the Proposed San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority 2015 Delta-Mendota Canal Reverse Flow Project

FRESNO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review draft environmental documents assessing the proposed installation, operation and maintenance of a 75 cubic feet per second temporary pumping plant at milepost 54.41 on the Delta-Mendota Canal (Check Structure No. 10) in order to reverse flow Central Valley Project and non-CVP water previously stored in San Luis Reservoir.

The Proposed Action is in response to drought conditions and forecasted pumping restrictions at the C.W. “Bill” Jones Pumping Plant this summer.

The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=21684 and were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
