Reclamation Releases Final Environmental Documents on 2015 Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority Transfers

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation today released the final environmental documents for the transfer of Central Valley Project water by CVP contractors located north of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The water may be purchased by Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority Member Units located north of the Delta.

The proposed action includes groundwater substitution and crop land idling/shifting transfers in 2015 that require Reclamation’s approval. The transfers involve Base Supply and/or Project Water from 20 Sacramento River Settlement Contractors located north of the Delta. A total of up to 98,000 acre-feet of water could be made available for transfer. Reclamation is currently evaluating each transfer proposal individually to determine if it meets state law and/or Central Valley Project Improvement Act requirements.
