Louis Moore Selected as Deputy Public Affairs Officer for the Bureau of Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region

non-interactive image of Wilbert SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Wilbert Louis Moore has been selected as the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for the Bureau of Reclamation?s Mid-Pacific Region. In this position, Moore will assist the Regional Public Affairs Officer, Erin Curtis, with management of the Region's public affairs, public involvement and public education programs. Moore will also help guide the Region?s internal communications and media and congressional relations.

"Louis has been an essential member of the Region's Public Affairs Office for 20 years. He has extensive experience working with the media, the public, elected officials and representatives of federal, state and local government agencies," stated Curtis. "His comprehensive knowledge of the Mid-Pacific Region, and particularly the Central Valley Project, as well as his exceptional people skills basically guarantee his success in this position"

Prior to joining Reclamation, Moore served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then worked for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force in Berlin, West Germany, as a local national, and he led tours of East Berlin for Destinations Unlimited. Moore began working for the Region's Public Affairs Office in October 1993 as a data entry clerk, and in 1994, he became the lead Reclamation guide at Folsom Dam for the Central California Area Office. He returned to Public Affairs part-time in 1997 and full-time in 1998. He has also worked in the Mid-Pacific Region's Division of Planning as a project coordination specialist.

Moore holds a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from National University. He was born in Georgia and raised in New Jersey.
