Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Documents for the Proposed Los Banos Creek Diversion Project

FRESNO, Calif. ­– The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review the draft environmental documents for the proposed installation of a connection structure between Los Banos Creek and Check 15 of the Delta-Mendota Canal for introduction of Los Banos Creek water during flood events.

All introduced water would be subject to 5 percent conveyance losses and may only be used on the riparian lands associated with Los Banos Creek located in Central California Irrigation District, Grasslands Water District North and San Luis Water District.

The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding Of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=20181.
