MP-14-227 - CORRECTED - Notice of Availability of Draft EIS on CVP Municipal and Industrial Water Shortage Policy and Public Meetings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has made available for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Central Valley Project Municipal and Industrial Water Shortage Policy.

The Draft EIS addresses updating the existing 2001 Draft CVP M&I WSP that would be used by Reclamation to:

• Define water shortage terms and conditions for applicable CVP M&I water service contractors, as appropriate

• Establish CVP water supply levels that, together with the M&I water service contractors' drought water conservation measures and other water supplies, would assist the M&I water service contractors in their efforts to protect public health and safety during severe or continuing droughts

• Provide information to M&I water service contractors for water supply planning and the development of drought contingency plans.

Four public meetings have been scheduled to solicit comments on the topics addressed in the Draft EIS:

Sacramento, CA - Monday, Dec. 8, 2-4 p.m., Sacramento Inn and Suites, 1401 Arden Way, 95815

Willows, CA - Wednesday, Dec. 10, 6-8 p.m., Willows Memorial Hall, 525 West Sycamore Street, 95988

Fresno, CA - Tuesday, Dec. 16, 6-8 p.m., Piccadilly Inn Airport, 5115 East McKinley Avenue, 93727

Oakland, CA - Wednesday, Dec. 17, 6-8 p.m., Courtyard Oakland Airport, 350 Hegenberger Road, 94621
