Draft Environmental Documents Available for Central Valley Project Interim Renewal Contracts for Two Water Districts

FRESNO, Calif. --The Bureau of Reclamation has released draft environmental documents for public review on the proposed renewal of San Luis Unit Central Valley Project interim renewal contracts for Panoche Water District and San Luis Water District.

Interim renewal contracts are undertaken under the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act to provide a bridge between the expiration of the original long-term water service contracts and long-term renewal of those contracts. Each of the interim renewal contracts would be renewed for up to two years, beginning March 1, 2015.

The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=19961.
