Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Documents for Central Valley Project Interim Renewal Contracts

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review draft environmental documents for the proposed renewal of San Luis Unit Central Valley Project interim renewal contracts for the Cities of Avenal, Coalinga, and Huron and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Interim renewal contracts are undertaken under the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act to provide a bridge between the expiration of the original long-term water service contracts and long-term renewal of those contracts. Each of the interim renewal contracts would be renewed for up to two years beginning March 1, 2015.

A draft Environmental Assessment and Find Of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=19801.
