SONORA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces that effective Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, a new concessionaire will be operating the New Melones Lake Marina at Glory Hole Recreation Area, New Melones Lake.

Darrin Mills of Angels Camp has assumed the current interim contract formerly held by David Smith of Shasta Lake Resorts, LP. In addition, the contract will be extended for two additional years beginning
Jan. 1, 2015, through Dec. 31, 2016. This contract extension is being implemented to support continuity of services until a new long-term concession contract can be advertised and awarded through a competitive bidding process.

Throughout the term of this interim concession contract, all current marina services and operations will continue to be available as lake levels permit. Current services include wet slips for houseboats and pleasure boats; rental of houseboats, pleasure boats, kayaks, and paddle boards; boat fueling and wastewater pump-out stations; and the marina’s floating convenience store. In addition, Mills intends to offer expanded land-based services for park visitors.

For a listing of services and hours of operation, please contact the New Melones Lake Marina at 209-785-3300 or at http://newmeloneslakemarina.com. The public is invited to visit the new marina operation this fall.

Reclamation appreciates the many years of dedicated service provided by David Smith and Shasta Lake Resorts, LP on behalf of visitors to New Melones Lake and the marina.
