Dawn Wiedmeier Selected as Columbia-Cascades Area Manager

Dawn Weidmeier, Columbia Cascades Area Office Manager YAKIMA, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation's Pacific Northwest Region announced today that Dawn Wiedmeier has been selected as the Columbia-Cascades Area Manager in Yakima, Wash. She replaces Jerry Kelso who retired earlier this year.

As Area Manager, Wiedmeier will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and direction to more than 175 employees who operate, maintain and manage the Columbia Basin, Yakima, Umatilla, Deschutes, Crooked River, Rogue River and Tualatin projects. She will begin her new role immediately.

"It is a pleasure to announce the selection of Dawn Wiedmeier as Columbia-Cascades Area Manager," said Reclamation's Pacific Northwest Regional Director Lorri Lee. "She has a wealth of experience in complex water and power operations and maintenance, and will be a great asset as she moves into her new position."

Wiedmeier began her career with Reclamation in 2002 as the Deputy Area Manager at Reclamation's Eastern Colorado Area Office in Loveland, Colo. In 2007, she came to the Pacific Northwest Region to serve as the Deputy Area Manager in Yakima.

Prior to working for Reclamation, Wiedmeier worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than 20 years, mostly in Seattle and Clarkston, where she managed resources along the Lower Snake River and the Little Goose Powerplant.

Wiedmeier has a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Slippery Rock State College in Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Randy, reside in the Yakima area.
