CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Bureau of Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region announces the selection of Terri Edwards as the Area Manager for the Lahontan Basin Area Office located in Carson City, Nevada. The former Deputy Area Manager, Edwards assumed her new duties on July 27, 2014.

David G. Murillo, Regional Director for the Mid-Pacific Region, said: “Terri is thoroughly familiar with the programs and projects handled by the Lahontan Basin Area Office and has extensive work experience with area stakeholders. We’re very pleased to announce her selection, and Reclamation will benefit greatly from the continuity that her selection will provide.”

As Area Manager, Edwards will direct and oversee program activities covering a large area of the Great Basin including most of the northern two-thirds of Nevada, with a small amount of overlap into California and Oregon. She has worked in LBAO in various other positions, including as a project repayment specialist, Native American Affairs coordinator, Resource Division manager, and most recently as the Deputy Area Manager with former Area Manager Kenneth Parr, who retired earlier this year.

LBAO has jurisdiction over some of the oldest and most enduring Reclamation projects, the Newlands, Washoe, Truckee Storage, and Humboldt projects. The protection of endangered species, the maintenance of aging infrastructure, and the urbanization of areas surrounding our facilities are ongoing issues within LBAO and the communities it serves.

Edwards earned a Bachelors in Business Administration at the University of Arizona, Tucson; a Masters of Business Administration from Webster University; and she served in the U.S. Army. Edwards has a thorough understanding of both the budgeting and execution of Reclamation’s mission, has been recognized several times for her performance, and has received numerous awards from external stakeholders served by Reclamation.
