SACRAMENTO, Calif. -The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review a Draft Environmental Assessment of a proposed WaterSMART grant of $696,000 to Tulare Irrigation District to help fund the proposed construction of a 8,300-foot-long water conservation and reuse pipeline to convey a portion of the tertiary treated wastewater from the City of Visalia’s newly upgraded Water Conservation Plant. The treated wastewater would be used by TID’s customers.

Reclamation would also approve a 25-year exchange of a portion of the City’s treatment plant water for a portion of TID’s Central Valley Project water.
