SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will host an all-day workshop with the Truckee Basin Study Technical Advisory Group on Monday, July 14. This is the third technical workshop for the study. It will focus on characterizing a range of potential future risks to water supply reliability in the Truckee Basin and on prioritizing options to be considered for addressing those risks.

The Technical Advisory Group is composed of technical experts, stakeholders and members of the public who have an interest in the basin study. Each workshop will focus on a different technical aspect or component of the basin study process, including approaches for determining water supply, water demand, assessment of risk and reliability, and options for managing risks or imbalances.

The workshop will be held:

Monday, July 14, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Tahoe Regional Planning Agency
128 Market Street
Stateline, NV 89410

Following the workshop, the material presented will be posted for download on www.usbr.gov/mp/TBStudy.

The purpose of the basin study is to identify and address potential imbalances between water supply and demand for Truckee Basin water users that may be exacerbated by climate change. The basin study is also investigating potential impacts to associated resources such as hydropower and recreation. It is being conducted as a collaborative effort among Reclamation and the four non-federal cost share partners (Placer County Water Agency, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Truckee Meadows Water Authority and Truckee River Flood Management Authority).

The workshops are open to all interested parties and members of the public. For questions or additional information, please contact Arlan Nickel at 916-978-5061 (TTY 800-877-8339) or anickel@usbr.gov or Shelley McGinnis at 916-978-4349 or smcginnis@usbr.gov.
