BOISE, Idaho - The Bureau of Reclamation will increase flows from Lucky Peak Dam June 9 and 10 to provide additional water for salmon migration in the lower Snake and Columbia rivers in accordance with NOAA Fisheries 2008 Upper Snake Biological Opinion.

Currently, Boise River flows are approximately 650 cubic feet per second at the Glenwood Bridge gauging station. On Monday, flows will increase about 300 cfs and Tuesday flows will increase an additional 400 cfs.

The discharge increases will result in flows of approximately 1350 cfs through the city of Boise Tuesday. The river will be running faster than in recent weeks and water temperatures are still rather cold. Please use caution when recreating near the river.

Flows will remain at these higher levels through mid-July and then return to normal mid-summer irrigation levels of about 700 cfs.
