Reclamation to Host ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Awareness Event for Veterans

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Bureau of Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Regional Office is hosting an event on Thursday, May 29, 2014 to assist veterans in the processes and skills for more successful federal government employment applications. From biologists to administrative assistants, engineers to maintenance personnel, and photographers to information technology specialists, Reclamation staff members and Human Resource specialists will be available to answer questions about federal job opportunities.

Tips and topics include:

• Building a federal resume.

• Creating an account and profile on USAjobs.gov .

• Applying for a position with the federal government.

• Improving your interviewing tips and techniques.

These and many other veterans’ employment questions will be addressed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lower Colorado Regional Training Center, located at 500 Date Street in Boulder City.

Veterans planning to attend the Employment Awareness Event should bring a copy of their DD 214 and resume, and respond with your name and address via email to lcrhrservice@usbr.gov.
