Brenda Bryant Selected as Assistant Regional Director for Business Services for Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region announces the selection of Brenda Bryant as the Assistant Regional Director for Business Services. Bryant, who has served as the Acting Assistant Regional Director since April 21, will assume her new position on May 5, 2014.

David Murillo, Regional Director, Mid-Pacific Region, stated, “Brenda Bryant has been a key member of the Region’s Leadership Team since December 2010 as the Regional Financial Manager. Her personnel management abilities and experience as well as her knowledge of the Region’s financial and other administrative functions make her uniquely qualified for this critical position.”

non-interactive image of Brenda BryantAs the Assistant Regional Director for Business Services, Bryant oversees financial management and audit liaison and review functions, information technology and systems security, acquisition, property management, human resources, records management, and numerous administrative functions for the Region. She also coordinates and integrates program efforts with other Regional and area offices and develops and implements annual and long-term strategic plans to maximize support for Regional programs. She serves as the Region’s senior representative on Reclamation’s Chief Financial Officer’s Council.

Bryant joined Reclamation in December 2010 as the Regional Financial Manager responsible for providing fully integrated budgeting, accounting, and ratesetting services, including management of BOR Works, which allows area offices to input and track water quantity and the rates applied to promote timely repayment of the federal investment in the Central Valley Project and all other Regional projects.

Prior to joining Reclamation, Bryant served as the Director of Financial Services for the Federal Highway Administration, California Division, overseeing an annual $3.6 billion grant program. Bryant also previously served as the senior accountant for the Western Area Power Administration, Sierra Nevada Region, and as an industrial engineering technician for ground communications electronics and avionics for the Department of Defense.

Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting at California State University Sacramento and an Associate of Science in electronics computer technology from American River College. She and her husband reside in Sacramento, Calif.
