SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of up to $100,000 for Water Conservation Program Education Grants. This Funding Opportunity Announcement invites non-profit institutions within the Central Valley Project service area to leverage their money and resources by cost sharing with Reclamation on programs that seek to improve water conservation and public awareness of water use efficiency issues and practices through classroom education and material development and distribution.

Special consideration will be given to projects that are especially innovative and deepen students’ knowledge of California water issues. Proposals will also be ranked on the extent and breath of the outreach program and the quality of supporting documents.

The ultimate goal of educational programs such as those funded under this FOA is to educate the public so that future generations will have sufficient supplies of clean water for drinking, economic activities, recreation and ecosystem health. This work is to be accomplished throughout the Mid-Pacific Region to benefit the CVP and the public at large.

Proposals must be submitted online at www.grants.gov using Funding Opportunity Number R14AS00022. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 12 p.m. PDT. It is anticipated that awards will be made this spring. For additional information, please contact Rob Lowry at 916-978-5115 (TTY 800-877-8339) or rlowry@usbr.gov.
