MEDIA ADVISORY: Federal Agencies and State of California Schedule Media Briefing for Wednesday, February 5, on Coordinated Drought Response

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Led by Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael L. Connor and California Department of Water Resources Director Mark Cowin, federal and state partners, including representatives of the Departments of the Interior, Agriculture and Commerce, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the State of California, will hold a media briefing on February 5 in Sacramento on their coordinated response to the drought.

With California in its worst drought in the state’s 160 years of record keeping, and following Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.’s declaration of a Drought State of Emergency on January 17, agency representatives will discuss their collaborative and expedited response to minimize the social, economic and environmental impacts of the drought crisis.
