Meeting Scheduled to Review Plan to Meet Selenium Loads in 2015-2019 for the Grassland Bypass Project

FRESNO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will hold a meeting to review the plan proposed by the San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority to meet selenium loads specified in the Agreement for Continued Use of the San Luis Drain through Dec. 31, 2019. Panoche Drainage District staff will lead a tour of local irrigation and drainage management facilities.
The Use Agreement, which implements the Grassland Bypass Project, has many conditions the Authority must meet to convey unusable agricultural drainage water in the San Luis Drain and discharge the water into Mud Slough (north), a tributary of the San Joaquin River. The overall goal of the Use Agreement is to eliminate use of the San Luis Drain by January 2016.
The meeting and tour will occur:

The public is welcome to attend the meeting and tour and will have the opportunity to comment. Reservations are required for the tour. Tour attendees will be able to purchase lunch from the District.
