NAPA, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has awarded several contracts to upgrade visitor services and support infrastructure at three concession areas along the western shore of Lake Berryessa.

The Concession Area Improvements contract, awarded to GD Nielson Construction Inc. for $714,493 on Sept. 11, 2013, includes the installation of a new potable water supply system for the distribution of water from a proposed well at Putah Canyon Recreation Area; the design and construction of temporary RV dump stations at Putah Canyon, Spanish Flat and Steele Canyon Recreation Areas; and the stabilization of an earth slide at the Spanish Flat Recreation Area.

The facility infrastructure and upgrades in amenities associated with these contracts will improve the recreation experience and visitor services offered at Lake Berryessa in the near future and provide base infrastructure and amenities for future long-term concession contracts.
