Reclamation Awards $2.5 Million Contract for Asbestos Abatement Work at Grand Coulee and Hungry Horse Power Offices

GRAND COULEE, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $2.5 million contract to conduct asbestos abatement work at the Grand Coulee Power Office in Wash., and Hungry Horse Power Office in Mont.

The contract was awarded to Modecor Corporation of Dallas, Texas, on September 16, 2013. The work involves removing asbestos containing material and asbestos contamination from power plants, switchyards, pumping/generating plant, and other structures at Grand Coulee Dam and Hungry Horse Dam. The contract is awarded for up to a 5-year period.

Grand Coulee Dam is located on the Columbia River about 90 miles west of Spokane, Wash., and Hungry Horse Dam is located on the south fork of the Flathead River about 20 miles northeast of Kalispell, Mont.
