Reclamation to Hold Truckee Basin Study Technical Webinar Workshop

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will hold a webinar workshop with the Truckee Basin Study Technical Advisory Group on Monday, August 26. This is the second technical workshop which will focus on approaches for determining current and likely future demand for water in the Truckee River Basin.

The Technical Advisory Group is comprised of technical experts, stakeholders and members of the public who have an interest in the basin study. Each workshop will focus on a different technical aspect or component of the basin study process, including approaches for determining water supply, water demand, assessment of risk and reliability and strategies for managing risks or imbalances.

The purpose of the basin study is to identify and address potential imbalances associated with climate change between water supply and demand for Truckee Basin water users, and is being conducted as a collaborative effort among Reclamation and four non-federal cost share partners (Placer County Water Agency, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Truckee Meadows Water Authority and Truckee River Flood Management Authority).
