Reclamation Releases Final Environmental Documents to Supplement the South-of-Delta Accelerated Water Transfer

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation today released final environmental documents to
implement an accelerated water acquisition program for wildlife refuges pursuant to the Central Valley Project Improvement Act.
Reclamation will purchase Central Valley Project water annually from willing South-of-Delta contractors and/or Cross Valley contractors. Purchased water will be delivered to the wildlife refuges through existing facilities. No construction or modification of facilities will be needed for delivery of this water. Transfers and exchanges will be limited to a total of 150,000 acre-feet annually.
The Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were
prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at
http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=6977.
