Reclamation Releases a Draft Environmental Assessment on a Proposed Trail System at Ridgway Reservoir

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Reclamation announced today that it released a draft environmental assessment on a proposed trail system at Ridgway Reservoir. Reclamation along with Colorado Parks and Wildlife is proposing to construct and manage five miles of hiking and biking trails on the east side of Highway 550, across from the Dutch Charlie campground near Ridgway, Colo. Three miles of the proposed trail system will compliment an adjacent Bureau of Land Management trail project, which will result in 20 miles of new trails in the area.

The draft supplemental environmental assessment is available on our website under environmental documents or a copy can be received by contacting Jennifer Hamilton with Reclamation in Grand Junction at (970) 248-0651 or jhamilton@usbr.gov.

Reclamation will consider all comments received prior to preparing a final environmental assessment. Comments are due by July 12, 2013.
