Media Contact: Pete Lucero, MP Religion Public Affairs Officer, 916-978-5100, plucero@usbr.gov

For Release: May 06, 2013

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact on renewal of a license to store dredged material on Reclamation property.

The renewed license would authorize the California Department of Water Resources to continue storing dredged material on Reclamation property at the intersection of Old River, the Delta-Mendota Canal and Grant Line Canal near the Clifton Court Forebay in San Joaquin County. DWR periodically dredges silt from nearby waterways and stores it for beneficial use at a later time. The renewed license would allow DWR to place this material on Reclamation-owned land for a period of five years.

The Draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=13290. If you encounter problems accessing the document online, please call 916-978-5100 or e-mail mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.
