PHOENIX- The Bureau of Reclamation has issued a draft environmental assessment on a proposal to rehabilitate the Casa Blanca Canal on lands within the Gila River Indian Reservation, approximately 30 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona.

The Casa Blanca Canal is one of the several irrigation delivery canals operated by the Gila River Indian Community (Community). The purpose of the project is to improve delivery service to Community farmland near the town of Sacaton by enhancing the efficiency of the irrigation system and by providing more flexibility in its operations to respond to changing needs and conditions.

A paper copy or CD version of the document is available by calling the Environmental Resource Management Division at (623) 773-6251, or by e-mailing jharagara@usbr.gov.
