Final Environmental Documents Available for the City of Roseville and the Placer County Water Agency’s Central Valley Project Interim Renewal Water Service Contracts

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released a final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact supporting 2-year interim renewal water service contracts for the city of Roseville and the Placer County Water Agency. Interim renewal water service contracts are undertaken under the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act, which allows for the successive execution of 2-year interim contracts until a long-term contract is executed.
Reclamation has also executed Roseville’s second interim renewal water service contract. The term of Roseville’s first interim contract was January 1, 2011, through February 28, 2013. The term of this second interim contract is March 1, 2013, through February 28, 2015.
The 2-year interim renewal water service contract for PCWA under this final EA and FONSI will be executed in February 2014. PCWA’s first interim contract provides for the delivery of Central Valley Project water from January 1, 2012, through February 28, 2014.
The two contracts will facilitate the delivery of up to 67,000 acre-feet of CVP water for municipal and industrial uses. Specifically, Roseville’s interim water service contract provides for the delivery of up to 32,000 acre-feet, and PCWA’s interim contract provides for the delivery of up to 35,000 acre-feet.
