Lake Berryessa Community Forum Coordinating Team Members Announced; Public Meeting to be Held Wednesday, Feb. 27

NAPA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces the individuals who will represent ten of the eleven stakeholder groups that form the Coordinating Team for the new Lake Berryessa Community Forum, designed to promote public input regarding future recreation opportunities and services at Lake Berryessa. In response to public recommendations and a number of nominees having a wide range of interests, Reclamation added a seat on the Coordinating Team – Broad Based Interests – to represent a broad range of interests and perspectives. No nominations were received for the Fish and Wildlife Management stakeholder group, and Reclamation will continue to accept nominations for this group.

At a Jan. 17 public meeting, Reclamation initially identified ten groups to be represented on the Coordinating Team; nominations for representatives of the groups were due to Lake Berryessa Park Manager Jeff Laird by close of business Feb. 7. Of the 63 nominations received, Reclamation has selected the following individuals to represent their specific stakeholder groups:

Tracy Renee – Local Landowners and Residents

George Gamble – Local Ranchers

Craig Morton, Lake Berryessa Chamber of Commerce – Local Businesses

Michael Haley, Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District – Land-based Recreation

Lonny Lopez, Monticello Ski Club – Water-based Recreation

Nancy Tamarisk, Napa Sierra Club – Conservation Groups

John Donlevy, City Manager, Winters, CA – Gateway Communities

Chris Lee, Solano County Water Agency – Water Quality and Water Supply

Lieutenant Doug Pike, Napa County Sheriff’s Office – Public Services and Public Safety

Susan Sedillo – Broad Based Interests

No nominations received – Fish and Wildlife Management.

At a public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Berryessa Senior Center (4380 Spanish Flat Loop Road, Napa, CA 94558), Reclamation will kick off discussions with the Forum’s Coordinating Team related to implementing the Lake Berryessa Visitor Services Plan Record of Decision and establishing recreation within the lake’s concession areas as quickly and efficiently as possible for the 2013 recreation season. Reclamation’s goal continues to be to provide safe and enjoyable recreation experiences for visitors to Lake Berryessa. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
