Reclamation Announces Two New Group Campsites at East Park Reservoir

WILLOWS, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces the addition of two new group campsites for the 2013 summer season, located on the Ladoga side of East Park Reservoir. Coyote Cove and Hole in theWall group campsites will join Chisolm Cove as pay campsites. The Ladoga side of East Park Reservoir is located on Sites Ladoga Road, approximately 20 miles west of Maxwell, Calif.

East Park Reservoir offers many excellent recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking, camping, wildlife viewing, boating and water sports. The group campsites offer fire pits, waterfront campsites, available parking, private bathrooms, trash services, picnic tables and privacy from other campers.

The reservoir attracts a wide variety of bird species including bald eagles, golden eagles, tri-colored black birds, California quails and numerous varieties of migratory waterfowl. The popular area also attracts Tule Elk, black-tailed deer, wild boars, coyote, bobcat and mountain lion. Fisherman can expect to catch channel catfish, largemouth bass, spotted bass, smallmouth bass, carp, bluegill and crappie.

The camping season for the East Park group campsites will be open May 14 through Sept. 15, 2013 (weather permitting). Reservations for these campsites are now being accepted and may be made through www.recreation.gov. For additional park information, please contact the rangers’ office at 530-968-5267.
