Reclamation Releases Environmental Documents on Acquisition of Up to 7,363 Acre-Feet of Water from Merced Irrigation District for East Bear Creek Unit of San Luis National Wildlife Refuge

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has made available environmental documents regarding the acquisition of water for wetlands management.

Under the proposed action, Reclamation will enter into a temporary water service contract with the Merced Irrigation District to provide up to 7,363 acre-feet of water, from November 2012 through September 2013, to the East Bear Creek Unit of the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge. The proposed action does not involve any construction activities.

The Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impacts were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and may be viewed at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=11391.
