Reclamation Releases Final Environmental Documents for Westlands Water District Coalinga Canal Turnout Project

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has released final environmental documents for the Westlands Water District Coalinga Canal Turnout Project.

The proposed action includes removal and replacement of a pressure tank and 18-inch pipe, located within an existing operations and maintenance road about 1.1 miles north of Los Gatos Creek and 1.8 miles west of Interstate 5. Other improvements would include installation of a new concrete slab, block wall and 16-inch, above-ground metering station, with associated piping. A five-year license to withdraw water from the Coalinga Canal will also be renewed.

The Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were released for public comment from June 18, 2012 to July 2, 2012. No comments were received.
