Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Documents on Exchange Agreements and/or Warren Act Contracts for Conveyance of Groundwater in the Delta-Mendota Canal

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review the draft environmental documents for 10-year exchange agreements and/or Warren Act contracts for conveyance of groundwater in the Delta-Mendota Canal.
Reclamation proposes to issue a five-year exchange agreement and/or five-year Warren Act contract to requesting Central Valley Project contractors within the Delta Division and San Luis Unit. At the end of the five years, Reclamation could issue an additional five-year exchange agreement and/or five-year Warren Act contract to requesting CVP contractors, within the Delta Division and San Luis Unit, based on the 10-year environmental impact analysis covered under the environmental assessment. Reclamation has capped the proposed action at 50,000 acre-feet annually.Â
The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=11470.
