NAPA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled three public meetings to report on recreation services at Lake Berryessa. At the meetings, Mid-Pacific Regional Director Donald R. Glaser will outline a decision, pending at this time, on Reclamation’s concession contract with Pensus Lake Berryessa Properties, LLC. Mr. Glaser will also explain the basis for his decision, introduce Reclamation’s Lake Berryessa team members and answer questions.

Reclamation understands the importance of this pending decision to local residents and businesses and to those who recreate at Lake Berryessa. Mr. Glaser will also discuss plans for recreation services at Lake Berryessa during the 2013 season, over the next five years and in the long-term. Further, he will introduce plans to create a forum to provide for public involvement regarding recreation and land use activities at Lake Berryessa and to promote effective communication, consideration of interests and the resolution of problems.

As Reclamation looks to the future at Lake Berryessa, it is important to note that Mr. Glaser will move to Denver, Colo., where he will work on several high-priority projects for Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor. In coordination with Mr. David Murillo, who has been named as the new Mid-Pacific Regional Director, Mr. Glaser will continue to have an active role in the development and implementation of Lake Berryessa’s recreation management efforts and the new community forum. Both Mr. Glaser and Mr. Murillo will assume the duties of their new positions by January 2013.

The public meetings will be held:

  • Monday, Dec. 10, 6-8 p.m., Berryessa Senior Center, 4380 Spanish Flat Loop Road, Napa, CA 94558
  • Tuesday, Dec. 11, 6-8 p.m., Napa Valley College, Little Theatre, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa,      CA 94558
