WALNUT GROVE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Cross Channel Gates testing and training is scheduled on Thursday, Sept. 20, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The testing will involve opening and closing the gates several times for functional checks and training of the operators. After testing, the gates will remain open until further notice.

The Delta Cross Channel, a feature of Reclamation’s Central Valley Project Delta Division, is used to divert Sacramento River water into a branch of the Mokelumne River. The Delta Cross Channel gates are normally raised on weekends to allow for the passage of boats.
