Reclamation Releases Draft Contract for Exchange of Water With Byron-Bethany Irrigation District for Tracy Hills Water Supply Project

The Bureau of Reclamation today released a draft contract for an exchange of water with Byron Bethany Irrigation District that would provide up to 4,725 acre-feet of non-Central Valley Project water for CVP water delivered annually to a portion of the Tracy Hills Development for municipal and industrial use. The contract, with a term of up to 40 years, would provide operational flexibility and a supplemental annual water supply of up to 4,500 acre-feet, after losses, to a portion of BBID’s Tracy Hills Development, also identified as Raw Water Service Area No. 2. The draft contract includes the 2012 Delta-Mendota Canal Pump-In Program Water Quality Monitoring Plan, which will be updated annually.

A draft environmental assessment, which is under development in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, will be released separately.
