Fire Restrictions Enacted for Belle Fourche Reservoir

The Bureau of Reclamation has implemented fire restrictions at Belle Fourche Reservoir due to the continued dry weather conditions and the fire restrictions enacted by Butte County. The following restrictions apply to Belle Fourche Reservoir and all surrounding lands managed by Reclamation:
- Discharging or possession of fireworks is prohibited
- No campfires are allowed
- Cooking is allowed in grills or stoves using charcoal or propane gas
- Vehicle access is allowed only on graveled roads or roads clear of vegetation
These restrictions do not apply to Rocky Point Recreation Area managed by South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks. For questions related to Rocky Point Recreation Area, contact the Entrance Booth, at 605-641-0023.
To report a fire on the reservoir lands, call 911. To report a violation of these restrictions, contact the Butte County Sheriff’s Office at 605-892-3324.
Please respect the efforts by Local, State, and Federal firefighters to minimize the fire danger throughout the area by abiding by these fire restrictions.
