Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Documents on Warren Act Contracts for South-of-Delta Central Valley Project Contractors

FRESNO, Calif. — Reclamation released draft environmental documents today to enter into Warren Act contracts for storage and conveyance of non-Central Valley Project surface water in federal facilities for south-of-Delta CVP contractors.
The San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority, on behalf of nine member districts, has purchased 30,000 acre-feet of supplemental dry-year water supplies made available through the 2008 Lower Yuba River Accord. The member districts have requested Warren Act contracts with Reclamation to store and convey this water between July 2012 and June 30, 2013.
Written comments on a Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for the proposed actions must be received by close of business June 29, 2012 and should be sent to Nick Kilb, Bureau of Reclamation, South-Central California Area Office, 1243 N Street Fresno, CA 93721. Comments may also be faxed to Mr. Kilb at 559-487-5397 or e-mailed to nkilb@usbr.gov.
The Draft EA/FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at: http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_base.cfm?location=sccao.
