An informal presentation will be given by a Reclamation representative that will provide an overview of the Scenic Byway designation process; possible benefits and costs; and some of the historically significant features along the proposed Byway. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, and a variety of informative handouts will be available to those in attendance.

The 27.4 miles of roadways that are being proposed as Scenic Byways pass through lands managed by a variety of interests including the City of Boulder City, National Park Service, and Bureau of Reclamation. Within Nevada, the specific roadways are Nevada Way within the city limits of Boulder City; Nevada State Highway 172 leading to Hoover Dam; and portions of U.S. 93 within Boulder City and Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The Scenic Byway designation process is a local, state, and federal cooperative effort that can enhance local economies by attracting state, national, and international travelers while fostering resource protection through education and interpretation.
