Final Environmental Documents Available for Exchange Agreements and/or Warren Act Contracts for Conveyance of Groundwater in the Delta-Mendota Canal

Reclamation has released final environmental documents for approval of two-year Exchange Agreements and/or two-year Warren Act contracts for Central Valley Project contractors in the Delta Division and San Luis Unit.

The term of the agreements or contracts will be March 2012 through February 2013 for pumping and conveyance; and March 2012 through February 2014 for storage in San Luis Reservoir, and for conveyance from the reservoir. The quantity of groundwater pumped into the Delta-Mendota Canal will not exceed a combined total of 50,000 acre-feet of water. The conveyance and storage of non-CVP water in CVP facilities will be subject to available capacity.

Reclamation completed a draft Environmental Assessment/Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI), which was made available for public review and comment between March 14, 2012 and April 14, 2012. No comments were received.
