BILLINGS, Mont. -- Reclamation's Facility Operations and Maintenance Division Manager for the Montana Area Office, Steve Davies, announced that Fresno Reservoir filled on Sunday, April 29, and flows over the uncontrolled spillway crest have begun.

Outflows from the spillway and river outlet works are approximately 700 cubic feet per second. "Flows over the spillway are expected to continue for about two weeks," Davies said. "By comparison, the spillway at Fresno Dam experienced flows for 90 days during last year's record runoff," Davies added.

Downstream recreationists are cautioned to be aware of basin runoff and weather conditions which can result in sudden changes to river levels and create dangerous conditions, especially in the vicinity of the access restriction immediately below the dam.
