Trenton Dam Road Temporarily Closed for Repairs

GRAND ISLAND, Neb.-- The Bureau of Reclamation's Nebraska-Kansas Area Office announced today that Trenton Dam Road has been closed due to extensive damage to the guardrail located along the south end of the spillway bridge.

On Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, approximately two hundred feet of guardrail was damaged as a result of a vehicle accident.

Recreation Road 44B across Trenton Dam will be closed for the duration of the repair work. Traffic will be detoured via State Highway 25 through the city of Trenton, Neb. Completion of the repair work will be dependent upon weather conditions.

Trenton Dam, located 2.5 miles west of the town of Trenton, Neb., is a feature of the Frenchman-Cambridge Division, providing flood control for areas downstream of the dam, irrigation water, fish and wildlife conservation enhancement, and recreational opportunities.
