Draft Environmental Documents Available for three Delta Division and five San Luis Unit Water Service Interim Renewal Contracts

The Bureau of Reclamation has made available a draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed renewal of interim contracts in the Central Valley Project's Delta Division and San Luis Unit. The contractors affected by the renewal of interim contracts would be the City of Tracy, the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency, the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the Westlands Water District.
These interim renewal contracts on the Central Valley Project are undertaken consistent with the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act to provide a bridge between the expiration of the original long-term water service contracts and long-term renewal of those contracts. Each of the eight renewal contracts would be renewed for up to two years beginning March 1, 2012.
The draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=8761.
