For Release: November 02, 2011

The Bureau of Reclamation has released a Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for Anderson-Cottonwood Irrigation District's Groundwater Production Element Project, a Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Program Grant. The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact were released for a 30-day public review on August 29, 2011, and the comments that were received have been addressed in the Final Environmental Assessment.

Reclamation proposes to provide Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Program Grant funding for the installation of two new groundwater wells in Anderson-Cottonwood Irrigation District's (ACID's) service area. This project would improve the flexibility and reliability of ACID's water supply, particularly during dry and critically dry water years.

The Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available online. If you encounter problems accessing the documents, please call 916-978-5100 or e-mail mpPublicAffairs@usbr.gov.

For additional information or to request a copy of the Final EA or FONSI, please contact Shelly Hatleberg at 916-978-5050 or shatleberg@usbr.gov. The Final EA and FONSI may also be viewed at Reclamation's Regional Office, 2800 Cottage Way, Sacramento, Calif.
