Reclamation Extends Comment Period on Requirements for Water Project Feasibility Studies

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the period seeking public comment on the draft directive and standard for feasibility studies to formulate, evaluate and select project plans for implementation. These updated guidelines establish the responsibilities, requirements and procedures for performing detailed planning studies, including feasibility studies conducted for the purpose of recommending congressional action, including approval, authorization, or appropriations, in accordance with Executive Order 12322. The comment period originally closed at 5 PM on October 21, 2011. With today?s announced extension, comments on the draft updated guidelines will continue to be accepted until 5 PM, November 25, 2011.

The Reclamation Manual establishes Reclamation requirements, assigns program responsibility and establishes and documents Reclamation methods of doing business.
