Due to construction delays, the Bureau of Reclamation has extended the closure of Lake Way Boulevard through November 4, 2011, for public safety as maintenance crews apply protective coatings to the Lake Way Boulevard Bridge in Cascade, Idaho.

The road closure, which extends from the Dam Road to Highway 55, is necessary so work crews can access the bridge components.

"We want to remind people that all access to this area is prohibited while construction is taking place," said Warren Sedlacek, Natural Resource Specialist. "This includes vehicles, pedestrians, horseback riders, and fishermen. The popular access route will be reopened as soon as the work is completed."

The west side of Lake Cascade can be accessed by taking Dam Road to Vista Point Boulevard. For more information contact Warren Sedlacek at Reclamation's Cascade Field Station at (208) 382-4258.
