Bureau of Reclamation to Host Meeting of the Bighorn River System Issues Group

BILLINGS, MONT. -- The Bighorn River System Issues Group will meet on Thursday, October 13, in the Madison Room, Billings Hotel and Convention Center, located at 1223 Mullowney Lane, Billings, Mont., from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m.
The Bighorn River System Issues Group is an open consortium which includes representatives from: Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks; Wyoming Game and Fish; the Bureau of Reclamation; the National Park Service; the Western Area Power Administration; the Bureau of Indian Affairs; the Crow Tribe; various recreation-related interest groups; members of the general public; and, landowners downstream of Yellowtail Dam. The theme of this meeting will be to hear feedback from interested parties on water operations during the past water year, and to discuss potential changes to Reclamation's draft operating criteria for Yellowtail Dam.
The Bighorn River System Issues Group was formed in 2007 to identify, explore, and recommend long-term, strategic courses of action to local, tribal, state, and federal entities that are responsible for managing the Bighorn River system resources.
